Second fiction. Yey!
This one is from Karen Regpala titled He Only Had to Say Her Name. Here’s a little introduction on the story before we give you part one.
You know how in life there always seem to be “what ifs”? That when you take a rewind, you are hit by this painstaking wish to have that ability to go back in time and do things differently? I think everybody had their fair share of these moments. And this is a story where I recall one of mine.
“He Only Had to Say One Name” stabs at one of two possibilities that can happen when people succumb to their “what ifs”. Will I call it a sad love story? Yeah, maybe. But then again, if one reads this with the perspective that the narrator gets to live out her life without that one “what if” hanging over head, then one may actually consider this a happy story.
